Privacy Policy

Snapbuff (“Snapbuff”, “we”, “us”) provides software that turns photos and video you upload into ready-to-post social media content for your business. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form), and the business details you give us such as shop name, city, and social handles.

Media you upload

We collect the photos and video you upload so we can produce content from them. This media may contain vehicles, property, and people. You are responsible for having the right to upload it and to feature anyone or anything appearing in it.

Connected social accounts

If you choose to connect an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Google Business Profile account, we receive access tokens that let us publish content you have approved and retrieve basic performance metrics for posts we published. We request the narrowest permissions needed for those functions. We do not read your direct messages, and we do not access content we did not publish beyond the metrics described here.

Usage and technical data

We collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and actions taken in the product. We use this to operate the service, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and understand which features are useful.

How you found us

When you arrive on this site we store, in a cookie on your browser, the campaign tags in the link you followed, if it carried any, the website or app that referred you, and the page you landed on. If you go on to create an account, those values are saved against it so we know which channels bring us customers. We also record which button on the site you used to reach the signup page, and the IP address the account was created from.

These cookies hold campaign labels and a referring website name. They do not contain an identifier for you, they are not readable by any script on the page, they are not shared with an advertising network, and they are not used to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites. They expire after 90 days. We also ask you directly, in the app, how you heard about us; answering is optional.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We retain a customer identifier, your plan, and billing status.

2. How we use your information

• To generate content from the media you upload
• To publish content to social accounts you have connected, only when you have approved or scheduled that content
• To operate your account, process payments, and provide support
• To improve output quality, including reviewing generated results and the feedback you leave on them
• To detect, prevent, and investigate abuse or fraud
• To send you service messages such as confirmations, notifications that your content is ready, and billing notices

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded media to advertise to other people.

3. Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of processors to run the service. They receive only what they need to perform their function:

• Cloud hosting and storage to run the application and store your media
• AI processing providers to transcribe audio, analyse footage, and draft captions. Media and text are sent for processing and are not used by us to train public models
• Stripe for payment processing
• Email delivery providers for transactional messages
• Google Analytics on our marketing site, to understand how visitors find and use it
• Social platforms you connect, when publishing content you approved

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service.

4. How long we keep data

• Raw uploaded media is deleted approximately 60 days after upload. It is working material, not an archive
• Generated content stays available in your library while your account is active
• Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and for as long afterwards as we are required to retain them for legal and accounting purposes

When you delete your account we remove your media and generated content within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete your account and the data associated with it
• Disconnect any social account, which immediately revokes our ability to publish on your behalf
• Export the content you have generated

To exercise any of these, email hello@snapbuff.comand we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under Quebec’s Law 25, PIPEDA, the GDPR, or similar laws, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored media, access controls that restrict each account to its own data, and least-privilege access for our own staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will notify you promptly of any breach affecting your data as required by law.

7. International transfers

We are based in Canada and use service providers that may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

8. Children

Snapbuff is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, notify you by email before it takes effect.
